Let 
– 2x – 8 = 0
Possible value of x i.e 
= 4, -2 …(1)
And 
= √20 or √8……(2)
Adding 1 and 2, we get two possible value of
a = 2+√5 or √2 - 1
Hence the value of "a" is none of these
