Concept:

\(Relative\;COP = \frac{{Actual\;COP}}{{Carnot\;COP}}\)

Now,

\(Carnot\;COP = \frac{{{T_L}}}{{{T_H} - {T_L}}}\)

Where, TL = Lower temperature and TH = Higher temperature

Calculation:

Given:

TL ­= 250 K, TH = 300 K, Relative COP = 0.5

Now,

\(Carnot\;COP = \frac{{250}}{{300 - 250\;}}\)

Carnot COP = 5

Now,

\(Relative\;COP\; = \frac{{Actual\;COP}}{{Carnot\;COP}}\)

∴ Actual COP = Relative COP × Carnot COP

∴ Actual COP = 0.5 × 5

Actual COP = 2.5
