Find the current through galvanometer for the circuit shown below:
A. 0.22 A
B. 0.08 A
C. 0.14 A
D. 0.3 A
Please scroll down to see the correct answer and solution guide.
Right Answer is: C
SOLUTION
\({I_1} = \frac{{36}}{{10\; + \;30}} = 0.9\;A\)
\({I_2} = \frac{{36}}{{40\; + \;50}} = 0.4\;A\)
V10Ω = 0.9 × 10 = 9 V ; V40Ω = 0.4 × 40 = 16 V
Vth = 16 – 9 = 7V
For RTh :
Rth = (10 ∥ 30) + (40 ∥ 50) = 29.72 Ω
With Vth and Rth, the equivalent circuit will:
DIAGRAM
\({I_G} = \frac{{{V_{th}}}}{{{R_{th}}\; + \;20}} \)
\(I_G= \frac{7}{{20\; + \;29.72}} = 0.14\;A\)
