From figure a and b,
the side 5 will be opposite to the side 2.
From figure b and c,
4 is common face.
So, 6,5,1 and 2 are four consecutive side face of 4.
So, the side 6 will be opposite to the side 1 and the side 5 will be opposite to the side 2.
So, the side 3 will be opposite to the side 4.
Therefore, 4 must be at the bottom face when the dice is in the position as shown in figure (a).
Hence, option A is the correct answer.
