One method to calculate a definite integral we know is of limit of a sum. Second fundamental theorem of integral calculus states that if there is a continuous function f defined on [a,b] and let F be the antiderivative of f then
baf(x)dx=F(b)F(a)
So it gives us a method to calculate definite integral with help of integrating the integrand instead of using the limit of a sum method.
