SOLUTION

2x + 6 + 1x - 2 =  10

⇒ 3x + 4=10

⇒  3x = 10 - 4   [when +4 is transposed to RHS it becomes -4]

⇒ 3x=6

Divide both the sides by 3. we get  x=2
