$∴$ sum of n observation = nx
If 1 is added to first term, 2 to $2^{n d}$ term and so on.
Then new sum of all observation $= n x + \frac{n (n + 1)}{2}$
$∴$ new average $= \frac{n x + \frac{n (n + 1)}{2}}{n} = x + \frac{(n + 1)}{2}$
