Right Answer is: B
SOLUTION
1) ÷ and –
Given statement: 36 × 2 – 14 + 12 ÷ 2 = 28
By changing the sign:
36 × 2 ÷ 14 + 12 – 2
= 5.1428 + 12 – 2 = 15.1428 ≠ 28
2) × and ÷
Given statement: 36 × 2 – 14 + 12 ÷ 2 = 28
By changing the sign:
36 ÷ 2 – 14 + 12 × 2
18 – 14 + 24 = 42 - 14 = 28
3) × and –
Given statement: 36 × 2 – 14 + 12 ÷ 2 = 28
By changing the sign:
36 – 2 × 14 + 12 ÷ 2
= 36 – 28 + 6 = 14 ≠ 28
4) + and –
Given statement: 36 × 2 – 14 + 12 ÷ 2 = 28
By changing the sign:
36 × 2 + 14 – 12 ÷ 2
72 + 14 – 6 = 86 - 6 = 80 ≠ 28
Hence, “× and ÷” is the correct answer.
