A right angled triangle whose sides are 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm is revolved about the sides containing the right angle in two days. Find the difference in volumes of the two cones so formed. Also,find their curved surfaces.

Case: When triangle is rotated about the side 3 cm.

Height of the cone = 3 cm

Radius of the cone = 4 cm

Case: When triangle is rotated about the side 4 cm

Height of the cone = 4 cm

Radius of the cone = 3 cm

Difference is the volume of two cones = v1 – v2

 = (16π – 12π)

 = 4π cm3
