| A rubber ball is dropped from a height of 2 m. If there is not loss of velocity after rebounding the ball will rise to a height of

A. 1 m

B. 2 m

C. 3 m

D. 4 m

Right Answer is: B

SOLUTION

Conservation of energy:

\(P.{E_1} + K.{E_1} = P.{E_2} + K.{E_2}\)

As there is no loss of velocity so

\(K.E = \frac{1}{2}m{v^2} \Rightarrow K.{E_1} = K.{E_2}\)

\(P.{E_1} = P.{E_1} \Rightarrow {h_1} = {h_2} \Rightarrow {h_2} = 2m\)
