The following Pie - Chart shows the interest gain on selling the five different types of Gold-Silver alloy Biscuits.
Price of Gold per 10 grams = Rs. 42,000
Price of Silver per kg = Rs. 42,000
Question 1: After one year, Ramesh sells 320 grams of B2 biscuits whereas Suresh sells 300 grams of B4 biscuits. What is the ratio of their interest gain?
A. 84504 : 132667
B. 88504 : 132867
C. 84506 : 132967
D. 84508 : 152867
E. 84504 : 132867
Right Answer is: E
SOLUTION
Price of Gold per 10 grams = Rs. 42000
⇒ 42000/10 = Rs. 4200 per gram
Price of Silver per kg = Rs. 42000
⇒ 42000/1000 = Rs. 42 per gram
In Biscuit B2,
Silver: Gold = 3 : 5
Silver = 320 × 3 / 8 = 120 grams
Cost of silver = 120 × 42 = Rs. 5040
Gold = 320 × 5 / 8 = 200
Cost of Gold = 200 × 4200 = Rs. 840000
Total Cost of B2 Biscuits = 5040 + 840000 = Rs. 845040
Now, Ramesh gets 10% interest on B2
∴ Interest = 845040 × 10/100 = Rs. 84504
In Biscuit B4,
Silver : Gold = 3 : 7
Silver = 300 × 3 / 10 = 90 grams
Cost of silver = 90 × 42 = Rs. 3780
Gold = 300 × 7 / 10 = 210 grams
Cost of Gold = 210 × 4200 = Rs. 882000
Total Cost of B4 Biscuits = 3780 + 882000 = Rs. 885780
Now, Suresh gets 15% interest on B4
∴ Interest = 885780 × 15/100 = Rs. 132867
∴ Ratio of interest gain = 84504 : 132867
