SOLUTION
7 years ago ; Average age of H , W and C = 42 years
Sum of ages of H +W + C = 42 × 3 = 126 years
At present the ages of them would have increased by 7 years
Present Sum of ages = 126 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 147 years …… (1)
Now, 9 years ago ; average of W and C = 36 years
Sum of ages of W & C = 36 × 2 = 72 years
Present sum of ages of W & C = 72 + 9 + 9 = 90 years …… (2)
Subtracting equation (1) from (2), we get
Age of husband = 147 – 90 = 57 years
