SOLUTION
Radius = 12 of diameter = 5 cm
OS is drawn from O and is perpendicular to chord PQ and bisects it.
Hence SQ = 3 cm
Hence length of OS is distance between O and PQ.
OQ2= OS2 + SQ2
52 = OS2+ 32
⇒ OS = 4 cm.
Hence distance between centre and chord is 4 cm.
