Right Answer is: B

SOLUTION

Ozone Layer or ozone shield is a region of earth stratosphere that absorbs most of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation. It contains a high concentration of ozone (O3) as compared to the other parts of the atmosphere.

Atmospheric research reveals that the ozone layer is being depleted by chemicals released by the industries, mainly chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs).

CFC’s and HCFC’s are released from industries and refrigerator rises into the stratosphere where they are eventually broken down by ultraviolet (UV) rays. This causes them to release free chlorine. The chlorine reacts with oxygen which leads to the chemical process of destroying ozone molecule.
