According to Archimedes principle
Weight of the body = weight of the volume displaced
i.e. mg = ρgV
Calculation:
Given:
m = 1500 × 4 = 6000 kg, ρ = 1000 kg/m3, V = 12 × 6 × z
6000 × 9.81 = 1000 × 9.81 × (12 × 6 × z)
⇒ z = 0.083 m = 8.33 cm
